Homemade Party Mix

Anyone else love the salty bits at the end of a Chex Mix bag? This is SO much better than the bag you buy at the store… and without all of the bits no one’s likes—why are there so many unsalted pretzels and bread bites? The best part of making it yourself, is that you never have a bite you don’t love.

Hands down family favorite to enjoy year round. Although, most of my memories of my grandma making this was during the cold months of the year. It’s for sure the best warm out of the oven!

Homemade Party Chex Mix

2 cups Rice Chex
2 cups Corn Chex
2 cups wheat Chex
1 cup of mixed nuts
1 cup goldfish or rye chips (optional)*
1 stick of salted butter (I’ve used slightly more too)
3 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp of seasoned salt (I love to use this French salt)

Directions
Preheat oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
Combine all the cereal and nuts in a large bowl. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and whisk in the Worcestershire sauce and salt until blended. Pour sauce mixture over the bowl of cereal mix and lightly stir, being sure all of the cereal is coated. Transfer to greased cooking sheet and bake for 45 minutes lightly stirring the mix every 15 minutes.

**When subbing rye chips or goldfish, I usually omit a cup or two of any of the Chex cereal.

I have bought a container of mixed nuts in the past (and still do if I’m in a pinch), but I find buying bulk bags of nuts is soo much cheaper! I do buy a few salted nuts like peanuts and salted almonds to have on hand though.
