Hoosier Chili

Growing up my grandma always made the BEST chili. I know everyone always thinks they know the best. And the amount of variations are never ending. That’s kinda the beauty of chili, right? Add in whatever sounds good to you in the moment. I hope you try it, and love it as much as we do!

Hoosier Chili

Ingredients:

•1 lb gr beef

•1 small onion (chopped)

•1 TBSP Chili powder

•1/2 tbsp Steak seasoning (St. Elmo’s is a fav)

•Dash of cinnamon

•Salt & pepper

•1 can of kidney beans + water

•½ c of tomato sauce (1 small can or ½ large)+ water

•1 can tomato paste + water

•1 small square of dark chocolate

•1TBSP white vinegar

•1C small noodles (we use elbow)

Directions:

1. Brown meat and add in onions until cooked through.

2. Add seasonings to meat & stir.

3. Pour in can of beans & then a can filled with water. Do the same thing with the tomato sauce and paste.

4. Add chocolate and vinegar and stir. Let pot simmer on low-med heat for about an hour to really blend the flavors (stirring occasionally).

5. Add noodles to pot and cook until noodles are al dente.

6. Serve with shredded cheese, sour cream, and chives.
